Cork Natural Fertility Clinic

Case History 7 - Unexplained Infertility

Although I already have a daughter who is seven who was (miraculously!) conceived naturally, I had been trying to have another baby for 5 years, but felt that, at 38, I was running out of time. I suffer from PCOS and a slightly under-active thyroid, but am otherwise fit and healthy, if occasionally a little stressed, due to work.

In October 2006 I decided to try fertility treatment which involved Drugs to stimulate ovulation and then Intra Uterine Insemination (IUI) treatment - it did not work. So, before embarking on the next round (we could only afford two attempts) I had 5 reflexology sessions prior to the drugs, then the day after I had the actual IUI treatment at the clinic, I flew to the Robin Hill Clinic in Cork with my daughter to chill out for a few days. I explained my circumstances to Dee and she recommended a relaxing massage and a special acupuncture treatment which was designed to assist implantation - the timing couldn't have been better!

Anyway, three weeks later, much to my amazement, the test result was positive and I'm now four months pregnant and absolutely thrilled. I'm convinced that the holistic therapies more than contributed to my body's ability to enable the drugs to work this time and also for conception to take place. In fact, if I had been younger and had a little more time to play with, I would have continued with the holistic treatments and not gone down the drug related assisted fertility route, as I'm sure it would have done the trick. But time wasn't on my side and I needed to skip a few hurdles!

The Robin Hill Clinic are very knowledgeable about the subject of fertility and would definitely recommend them to anyone who is having difficulty conceiving.
